Humans of HackBeanpot: Brandon Liang
Before COVID hit, I used to go to a hackathon almost every weekend. Hackathons were a way for me to explore places outside of Boston and establish new connections at other universities. I’ve made so many friends from doing that, and also undeniably gained a ton of project skills from those experiences. I wanted to join HackBeanpot because I really enjoyed going to hackathons in general and I wanted to experience being on the other side of the curtain. My favorite part of being a member of the HackBeanpot core team is that there is a really strong sense of community. Even though everything has been remote thus far, there’s still a great friend group that was formed with people whom you can talk to about problems and get advice from. And it goes beyond just Northeastern; I’ve met a couple of people from Boston University and Simmons University as well, so it’s also a great way to form connections in the Boston community at large.
